De Sektor is een organisatie die sinds 2022 fungeert als verbindende laag tussen makers, organisatoren en plekken van Underground Cultuur in Enschede. We brengen opkomend talent, creatieve broedplaatsen, en (digitale) makers samen, en verbinden deze met de lokale politiek en samenleving. Daarmee bieden we niet alleen inzichten in wat er leeft binnen de undergroundscene, maar dragen we ook actief bij aan het vormgeven van toekomstgericht cultuurbeleid in de stad.
Onze achterban bestaat uit organisatoren van cultuur die zich buiten de mainstream positioneren. Denk aan rauwe ateliers, kleine podia, nachtclubs, hackerspaces, kunstzinnige vrijplaatsen en andere plekken die de creatieve randen van Enschede vormen. Deze netwerken geven de stad karakter, stimuleren vernieuwing, en zorgen voor de culturele diversiteit die een levendige stad nodig heeft. De Sektor vertegenwoordigt deze gemeenschap en zorgt dat hun stem gehoord wordt—juist waar beleid en realiteit elkaar raken.

The Sektor is an organization that has been active since 2022 as a connecting platform between makers, organizers, and places within the Underground Culture of Enschede. We unite upcoming talent, creative breeding grounds, and (digital) makers, linking them with local politics and the broader public. In doing so, we not only provide insight into what’s happening within the underground scene but also help shape forward-thinking cultural policy in the city.
Our community consists of organizers and creators who operate outside the mainstream—raw studios, small venues, nightclubs, hackerspaces, and experimental art hubs that form the creative edges of Enschede. These initiatives give the city its character, drive innovation, and strengthen cultural diversity. The Sektor represents this community and ensures their perspective is included where policy meets reality.
